Get Your Audi Ready for the Coming Season

The last thing you want is to wait too long to have your Audi serviced and prepared for the winter months. While this may seem a bit early in the year for such thoughts, since college football season just kicked off, it's always better to be safe than sorry — especially when it comes to your finely-crafted Audi sedan or SUV. Visit the Service Center at Audi Lansing and let our experts take care of things for you, so you can enjoy peace-of-mind driving throughout the fall.

We checked with our factory-trained technicians, and these are their top tips for getting your Audi ready for cold weather:

  • Check your oil and change it if needed. Old oil doesn't perform well in extreme temperatures, and you want your oil to flow smoothly. This is also a good time to make sure that all other essential fluids — such as antifreeze and wiper fluid — are topped off.
  • Make sure your lights — all of them — are working properly. If any bulbs are dimmed or burned out, replace them as quickly as possible. With less daylight and winter conditions, you want to make sure that you can see everything on the road ahead -- and that others can see you and your Audi's lights.
  • Examine your battery, spark plugs, and electrical wiring. The last thing you want is your failing battery to die due to the extra strain of cold temperatures.
  • Finally, examine your tires closely. You want to make sure that your tires have sufficient tread, and that they're inflated properly. If you live in a more remote area where the snowplows take a while to clear the roads, it may be smart to invest in a set of snow tires that are mounted on inexpensive steel rims. Then all you need to do is switch out your tires to suit the season.
